NYC electronic duo HOWL's debut album pulls live guitar, modular synths, industrial electronics and pop-minded songwriting into one volatile world. Sonically, the project sits in the current conversation around The Hellp, Brutalismus 3000 and Boys Noize: young, club-facing music with punk energy, blown-out production and real songs at its center. Underneath that modern framing is a clear lineage running through Nine Inch Nails, The Prodigy, Depeche Mode and Justice.
Produced alongside 10x GRAMMY-nominated Damian Taylor (Björk, The Prodigy, Arcade Fire, The Killers), the record moves deliberately between aggression and release: the menacing "The Collector," the distorted, feel-good "Sunshine," the dystopian, neon-lit tension of "The Kill," and the heist-driven "Money in the Bag." Gritty guitars, synths, glitch-heavy electronics and emotive vocals connect the songs, while cinematic influences from Blade Runner, The Matrix and Fight Club give the album a larger visual and narrative world. The focus track, "Knew I Was Done," closes the album: the most guitar-driven song on the record, slightly eerie, with industrial textures and distortion underneath.
HOWL's live identity is equally hybrid: part band, part electronic act, part controlled explosion. The duo has opened for Rezz, Ninajirachi, Sullivan King and Rabbit in the Moon, played We Belong Here, Brooklyn Bowl and Bowery Ballroom, and has already received support from Spotify's Rocktronic and SiriusXM's Alt Nation. The album is built to connect the lineage of industrial and alternative electronic music with the harder, younger wave currently pushing club music back toward live vocals, guitars, distortion and punk physicality.
With sonic roots in rock and experimental electronic music, and minds bent on pushing beyond genres, HOWL is a rising force with a bold vision and the presence to back it up.
Alternative is bending back toward aggression and electronics, and the editorial ecosystem is feeding it: Rocktronic, Sludge, Proto, Anti Pop and The New Alt on Spotify, plus Breaking Electronic, ALT CTRL and Breaking Alternative on Apple and New Electronica / New Alt Rock on YouTube Music. The Kill lands in that lane, backed by a 10x GRAMMY-nominated producer and a fast-rising NYC live act with real festival and club credentials.
Prior Rocktronic and Alt Nation support on "The Collector" sets a clear precedent for editorial pickup. On short form, HOWL's modular synth clips pulled 382K and 148K TikTok plays against a ~7K follower base, a high play-to-follower ratio that shows the sound travels regardless of audience size.

Something instinctive, raw, and impossible to ignore. HOWL is the electrifying alt-rock / electronic duo of New Yorkers Nicola Wincenc and Aidan Dolan: multi-instrumentalists, singers, composers and producers whose music captures the raw tension and kinetic energy of the city they call home. Blending industrial electronics, distorted guitars and cinematic storytelling, HOWL sits somewhere between a band, a live electronic act and a controlled explosion. Their debut album, The Kill, is produced alongside 10x GRAMMY-nominated producer Damian Taylor (Björk, The Prodigy, Arcade Fire, The Killers).
